Museum Visit

Today was a good day. I'm sorry about the no tatttoo monday post this week but I had finals and that took up all my time. But now that school has come to an end for the summer I have a lot more free time. I hope to pick up the blogging I plan on doing a lot this summer I need to fill my time well. Today was a perfect day to start off the summer fun. I had an interview this morning and I think that it went well. But after that i went to my favorite place in Boston (My sanctuary) the MFA (Museum of Fine Arts). That place is the most magical place in for me anyway. There was a lot of new stuff there and I had so much fun walking around and getting some inspiration. Next is a trip to the beach with the best friend. here are some images from the MFA that I was take away with...

I love Stained Glass windows.

This was probably one of the best parts about the visit. There is a place where you can watch a painting get restored. It was fasinating and wonderful!!!

This was so great a woman beheaded a man. go girl power hahaha

This was hanging on the wall about 7 feet high. Its a depiction of Lilith Adam's first wife. The placement was pretty amazing. it really felt like she climed up the wall and is about to pounce on you.

Another favorite portion of the museum was the fabric and fashion room. The room was filled with all fashion illustrations. They were all so beautiful! 

Throwing some art love your way

Tomorrow is the big day for my new tattoo and I'm sooooo excited i can't wait!!! I will be posting about it on friday or monday not sure yet. But today I figured that I would post about some new art that has been in my pinterest folder for a while plus i haven't really posted about art in a while. Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy has sucked me in and is holding tight. I am enthralled with his work and the man himself his philosophies are something that I want to strive for in my architecture and art. He is so in-tuned with nature and creating something from that with all natural materials he even keeps the pieces in the exact same spot that he gathers it. He is a man to inspire and capture your attention.

His Philosophy:
"I have become aware of raw nature is in a state of change and how that change is the key to understanding. I want my art to be sensitive and alert to changes in material, season and weather. Often I can only follow a train of thought while a particular weather condition persists. When a change comes, the idea must alter or it will, and often does, fail. I am sometimes left stranded by a change in the weather with half-understood feelings that have to travel with me until conditions are right for them to appear. All forms are to be found in nature, and there are many qualities within any material. By exploring them I hope to understand the whole. My work needs to include the loose and disordered within the nature of material as well as the tight and regular."

Ofra Lapid

I have come across this amazing artist Ofra Lapid and wanted to share the love. Ofra creates these semi dollhouses that are dilapidated and destroyed but are so beautiful. "Broken Houses" are all based on photographs taken of weathered and abandoned buildings then made into models and photographed again without the surrounding context. They are wonderful and combined two of my favorite things abandoned building and miniatures.
